And now, finally, the moment that many Gundam Wing fans that has been waiting for… Finally, the successor to the Non-Grade 1/144 Wing-01, has been made.
Introducing, the HGAC Wing Gundam 01.
So, after waiting for a good number of years, how is this kit is like?
One word: Awesome.
The Wing Gundam here is uses the newer joint system for it’s elbows, side-skirt armour, and knees. Which are also used in some of the newer (smaller-sized) 1/144 HG kits.
At first glance, you’d might be mistaken this for it’s 1/100 MG cousin. Except it has less lining details.
The only decals/sticker/seals that I’ve used are the ones for the eyes, main cameras, the search eye on the torso and the black pieces on the shield.
And some of the parts I’ve painted with either black or gray. The amount of decals/stickers/seals are pretty minimal.
That’s an unusual way to store a beam saber. Wonder how often “let me open my shield up real quick” gets exploited by enemies.
Although, I think my perception of Wing will always be tainted by my first attempt to get into Gundam. That No-Grade kit…
Don’t worry, if don’t have time to grab the saber, just use the shield as a weapon.
Ah, I WAS planning to grab that kit when it was introduced, the 1/144 scale, that is. Alas, it was sold out…
But this kit… is very, very good.
